Welcome to Alkadar (‘Divine Command’), a pleasure resort located on the northern side of Sevastopol Bay near the village of Lyubimovka, and one of the most beautiful spots in the Crimea.
Unique climate combining soft sea breezes and healing air of foothills, wonderful sand-and-pebble beaches, immense seascape, seclusion – all this has for many years attracted holiday-makers to Alkadar.
Here, in this lovely, ecologically clean and picturesque nook, Albatross Sanatorium and Recreation Complex is located comprising a three-star hotel, a first-rate restaurant, sanatorium, boarding house, children’s recreation camp, and La Plazza bar.
Albatross Complex covers the area of more than 7 hectares and is located inside a lovely park zone. This is a very large and beautiful park where more than 300 kinds of plants grow. Coniferous trees and bushes occupy a special place among them. Graceful cypresses, majestic cedars, magnificent arborvitae and fragrant junipers decorate the place with their green attire the whole year round. Plants in the park have been selected to provide the most beneficial health effect for visitors.
The air that we breathe is of crucial importance for life and health of every human being. The air may be either polluted and even poisonous in environmentally unfriendly zones or fresh, clean and healing, like in Albatross.
Its numerous conifers emit bactericide-fungicide-protozoacides that kill harmful germs. Coniferous plants, and cedars in particular, provide a tranquilizing effect on nervous system. Deciduous trees and bushes also continuously filter harmful substances out from the air.
Plane-tree, this powerful natural filer, absorbs huge amounts of toxic substances from the air. This tree was believed to be sacred in the East, from where it originates. Substances emitted by plane-trees make people less aggressive and more friendly. You will find whole plane-tree alleys in the park.
Maples, barberries, lilacs absorb sulfurous anhydride. White and black poplar, acacia, silvery oleaster remove fluorides from the air. Honeysuckle, currant, arborvitae absorb ammonia. Chestnut, maple, privet accumulate lead compounds. Santolina, lavender, rosemary give off fine and delicate aromas.
The park has numerous stunning and attractive plants in full blossom: rose, gaillardia, gypsy-rose, coreopsis.
Apart from being most valuable air filters, many plants absorb up to 20 percent of noise and 70 percent of dust. In a large park land like this, air humidity increases by 10…15 percent, while temperature drops by 3…4°C in hot weather owing to the presence of plants.
Holiday in Albatross means, first and foremost, holiday in an ecologically clean area. No pesticides or any other substances harmful for human health are ever used here. The mere fact of lizards, frogs, hedgehogs and all kinds of birds dwelling in the park speaks for itself. Here you can enjoy warbling of the nightingale or, on a lucky day, see a strolling family of pheasants.
Complete absence of industries in the vicinity along with fresh sea area and abundance of green plantations make holidays in Albatross curative both for adults and children.
Albatross has everything to offer in terms of active pastime. You may have a try at billiards, play lawn-tennis or go bicycle-riding around picturesque environs. Yachting and boating trips, as well as diving are also available.
Crimea and Sevastopol have so many interesting things to see that you might as well join one of numerous guided tours.
