Our extensive and impressive wine list includes up to 20 wines by the glass, so you can enjoy wine samplings that reflect your specific tastes. Or discuss your preferences with our staff, all wine lovers themselves.

Like the Geisel Family, we source our food from special family-run producers, so you enjoy ingredients that define our commitment to quality and regional freshness. In the same way our buttery-smooth San Daniele ham, for example, is special to the Vinothek, so are many of our wines that we source from small, privately held wineries.

Our homemade pasta complements our extensive wine list and our menu changes weekly, to celebrate the freshest ingredients available.

S-Bahn

The S-Bahn station (Hauptbahnhof), with a direct line to the airport, is steps away. And only 150 metres down a pedestrian walkway is the city’s central train station, Hauptbahnhof.
Streetcars

Streetcars pass by the Hotel Excelsior, allowing you easy access to all parts of the city, while the vibrancy of Stachus and Karlsplatz beckons you to explore.

If you wish to discover the oldest parts of Munich, the pedestrian mall from Karlsplatz through to Marienplatz is at your doorstep. The great museums and shopping of Munich are also a leisurely walk away.

The Hotel Excelsior is conveniently located in central Munich.
From the airport
The Munich airport is 37 km north of the city and is served by the S-Bahn as well as taxi companies. It is about a 40-minute drive from the airport to the centre of Munich and the Hotel Excelsior.

Two lines, S1 and S8 provide direct access to the city.
To reach the Hotel Excelsior, take either the S-1 or the S-8 to Hauptbahnhof station. After leaving the station, cross Bahnhofsplatz to the pedestrian walk, Schützenstraße. Hotel Excelsior is on your right.

From the train station
The city’s principal train station, the Hauptbahnhof, is located in the centre of Munich. The Hotel Excelsior is only 150 metres from the station. When you exit the train station, walk towards the city centre. Cross Bahnhofsplatz to the pedestrian walk, Schützenstraße. Continue up the walk. The Hotel Excelsior is on your right. Alternatively, if you advise us of your arrival details, we will be delighted to meet you at the station.
By car

If you are driving into Munich, we offer secure underground parking.
We would like to inform you that the city centre of Munich will be an environmental zone effective from October 01, 2008. To reach the hotel by car you will need a so called emission sticker.
