Hotel Monte Rosa

The original five star Seiler Hotel is erected on the foundations of the legendary Lauber Inn, which established Zermatts hotel keeping in 1839. In 1855 Alexander Seiler opened the Hotel Monte Rosa here, in the centre of the village. Are you travelling by train? from Geneva: change trains in Visp or Brig (since not all trains stop at Visp); 3-4 hours travelling time from Basel or Zurich: change trains in Brig; 5 hours travelling time from Milano: change trains in Brig; 3-4 hours travelling time from Chur or St. Moritz: travel by Glacier Express directly until Zermatt Are you travelling by car? Zermatt cannot be reached directly by private car. You park your car at the Seiler Hotel 'Welcome Parking' in the village of Tasch (5 km [3 miles] before Zermatt). Our front office will be glad to reserve a parking space in your name prior to arrival. From there, the onward journey by taxi to the Zermatt village entrance or by shuttle train from Tasch train station will be organized (trains leave every 20 minutes, the last train leaves Tasch at 11.30 p.m.). Our porter awaits you at the Zermatt village entrance in case you arrive by taxi, or at the Zermatt train station, and drives you to your hotel either by horse carriage or electro hotel car. The charge for the parking space and the transfer to your hotel will be debited to your hotel bill. Transfers by private limousine or by helicopter from Sion, Geneva, Zurich or Milan airports can be arranged in advance through our Concierge. We wish you a pleasant trip to Zermatt.
