Peter Paul Rubens was born on June 28, 1577 in German Zigen. As it has appeared later, Rubens was fated to become the Flemish painter, draughtsman, and the head of the Flemish painting school of Baroque. But it was not the end of Rubens achievements: Paul Rubens the philosopher, archaeologist, architect outstanding collector, connoisseur of numismatology, state figure and diplomat and is known as well as scientist — humanist. By talent and variety of gifts, the depth of knowledge and vital energy Rubens is one of the most brilliant figures of the European culture of 17th century. The contemporaries named him the king of the artists and artist of the kings.

Jan Batist Poklen, more known under his pseudonym Molier is the outstanding French comediographist, actor, theatrical figure, reformer of scenic art. The service at a court yard of Ludovik XIV had not prevented Molier, basing on tradition of national theatre and achievement classicism, to create a genre of a social comedy, in which buffoonery, plebeian humour were combined with grace and artistry.
