There was another building at the place of the modern hotel constructed in 1875 according to the project of Emmanuel Gall. From 1909 to 1914 the building underwent renovation, carried out by Ulam’s company in modern classicism style. From that time up to the middle of the 20th century the hotel was called “New York”. In the middle 20’s of the past century it was the first hotel in Lviv with telephones in every room. Later the hotel was renamed to “Dnipro”, and that name lasted until middle 90’s. Opera is not just a hotel – it is the history accompanying you all around.

Its furnishings combine modern high-tech decorations with murals in Salvador Dali style. A panorama of the city – City Hall, domes of Opera and Ballet Theatre, Svobody Avenue – opens up from the Restaurant’s windows and terrace.
