Located on the banks of the River Sella in the outskirts of Cangas de OnĂ­s, the Parador is housed in a historic building-the Monastery of San Pedro de Villanueva. This jewel of the 17th century architecture was declared a national monument in 1907.

Cangas de Onis is a very important city in Spanish history considering that the fight with Moors started here in 711.

The famous battle site of Covadonga, where the first battle was won, is only 14 kilometers from the Parador.

The property is composed of two buildings, the original monastery which houses 3 suites and 8 double rooms and a new building with 53 double rooms. The two buildings are connected by a glass verandah structure.

The Parador is located in the outskirts of the city of Cangas de Onis, on the right bank of the River Sella,
2 km away from Cangas de Onis. The main access is road N 634 (Oviedo - Santander).
From Arriondas, road N 625 serves as the connection to the region of Castilla y Leon.
The road AS 114 connects Cangas de Onis to eastern Asturias as well as western Cantabria.
From the hotel you will be able to reach many wonders: the Picos de Europa range of mountains, Covadonga mountain,
and the River Sella (which bathes the Parador itself).
